What Are You Practicing?
The repeated patterns quietly shaping your identity, your self-trust, and the yoga business you are trying to build.
One afternoon, a client looked at me through tears and asked,
“Why does this feel so hard?”
She wasn’t talking about yoga.
She wasn’t talking about creating a website.
She wasn’t even talking about marketing.
She was talking about pressing Publish.
Weeks earlier, we had clarified her niche.
Written her homepage.
Created her first offer.
Mapped out her content.
Everything she needed to move forward was already there.
Yet every morning she would open Instagram, scroll through someone else’s posts, compare herself to another teacher, close the app, and promise herself she would show up tomorrow.
Tomorrow became next week.
Next week became next month.
Finally, she looked at me and whispered,
“What’s wrong with me?”
I smiled.
Not because I was dismissing her question.
Because I had once asked myself the very same thing.
What if nothing is wrong with you?
You may not need more information. You may need to uncover the hidden pattern teaching you to hesitate, hide, or keep waiting.
DISCOVER WHAT’S KEEPING YOU STUCKFor years, I believed I had a business problem.
I thought I needed another certification.
Another strategy.
Another coach.
Another sign that I was finally ready.
But eventually I realized something that changed not only my business, but my life.
Nothing was wrong with me.
I had simply become disconnected from myself.
Not in one dramatic moment.
In thousands of tiny ones.
The moments I ignored my intuition because someone else seemed more qualified.
The moments I abandoned what my body was trying to tell me because productivity felt more important.
The moments I performed the version of myself I thought people would approve of instead of embodying the woman I already was.
I don’t think this begins in business.
I think many of us learned it long before we ever stepped onto a yoga mat.
Somewhere along the way, we were taught that being a “good woman” meant overriding ourselves.
Keep everyone happy.
Stay productive.
Don’t be too emotional.
Don’t ask for too much.
Don’t disappoint anyone.
Keep going.
Even when your body begged you to rest.
Even when your heart whispered,
“This isn’t who you are.”
Over time, survival became so familiar that we mistook it for identity.
We didn’t lose ourselves all at once.
We practiced leaving ourselves.
Every time we ignored our intuition...
We practiced self-abandonment.
Every time we silenced our emotions to make someone else comfortable...
We practiced disconnection.
Every time we sought approval instead of honoring our truth...
We practiced performing.
And every practice quietly taught our nervous system who it believed it needed to become in order to stay safe.
Maybe the question isn’t,
“Why do I feel so disconnected?”
Maybe it’s...
What have I been practicing?
Because every practice is shaping an identity.
Every repeated thought.
Every repeated choice.
Every repeated story.
Every repeated avoidance.
Whether we realize it or not.
Every time you tell yourself,
“I’m not ready.”
You’re practicing hesitation.
Every time you open Instagram and compare yourself before you create...
You’re practicing inadequacy.
Every time you almost post...
Then delete it...
You’re practicing hiding.
Every time you tell yourself you’ll start next Monday...
You’re practicing waiting.
Eventually, practice becomes identity.
Not because you’re broken.
Because your nervous system believes what you repeatedly rehearse.
Your breakthrough begins with awareness.
If comparison, perfectionism, or waiting until you feel ready has become your normal, uncover the pattern underneath it and discover your next aligned step.

If fear can be practiced...
So can courage.
If hiding can be practiced...
So can visibility.
If self-doubt can be practiced...
So can self-trust.
Yoga has been teaching this for thousands of years.
Abhyāsa
Steady practice.
Not perfect practice.
Not inspired practice.
Devoted practice.
The practice of returning.
Again.
And again.
And again.
The Yoga Sutras never promised transformation through collecting more information.
They promised transformation through practice.
Business works the same way.
You don’t become a confident business owner before you start showing up.
You become one by practicing.
One conversation.
One offer.
One email.
One Reel.
One imperfect act of courage after another.
Until one day your brain quietly whispers,
“Oh...”
“This is who we are now.”
That’s why I don’t believe your yoga business is stuck because you aren’t smart enough.
Or talented enough.
Or experienced enough.
I believe many yoga teachers are simply practicing the very patterns they’re hoping to outgrow.
Comparison.
Perfectionism.
Waiting.
Overthinking.
And every day those practices become more familiar than the dream they’re trying to build.
But here’s what I know to be true.
You can begin practicing something different today.
You can practice trusting your voice.
Practice sharing your story.
Practice making an offer.
Practice believing your work matters.
Practice coming home to yourself.
Your yoga business isn’t built by what you know.
It’s built by what you practice.
And maybe your life is too.
