Yoga Never Asked You to Believe in Yourself
Jul 27, 2026
What if your dream has never needed a more qualified version of you—only a more trusting one?
What if you are simply being asked to remember who you are?
For the yoga teacher who’s convinced she’s one more certification away from feeling ready…
I want to ask you something.
What if that isn’t the breakthrough you’ve been searching for?
What if your dream has never needed a more qualified version of you?
What if it has only been waiting for a more trusting one?
I see it every day.
Brilliant yoga teachers waiting.
Overthinking.
Questioning.
Collecting more knowledge while their gifts quietly wait to be shared.
They keep telling themselves they’re being responsible.
They’re preparing.
They’re deepening their practice.
They’re making sure they can truly help.
And I understand that.
Because I was that woman too.
I Thought Confidence Was Something I Had to Earn
For years, I believed there was a future version of me who would finally feel ready.
She would know more.
Question herself less.
Have the perfect words.
Understand every part of business.
She wouldn’t be afraid to be seen.
She wouldn’t wonder whether she was qualified enough to lead.
So I kept preparing for her arrival.
I learned.
I studied.
I took courses.
I collected more tools, more strategies, and more evidence that I should be capable.
But no matter how much I learned, that completely confident version of me never appeared.
There was always something else I could know.
Another skill I could develop.
Another reason to wait.
And eventually I had to tell myself the truth.
I wasn’t searching for more knowledge.
I was searching for permission.
Permission to trust myself.
Permission to take up space.
Permission to stop preparing for my life and begin living it.
“Sometimes one more certification isn’t devotion to your dream. Sometimes it’s a beautiful, socially acceptable way to keep hiding from it.”
Learning Was Never the Problem
I love learning.
I will probably always be a student.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to expand your knowledge, deepen your practice, or become more skillful in the way you serve.
But there comes a moment when learning can quietly become hiding.
Not intentionally.
Not because you’re lazy.
Not because your desire to grow isn’t real.
But because learning feels safer than leading.
Inside another training, you know your role.
You are the student.
You can listen.
Take notes.
Complete the assignment.
Wait for someone else to tell you when you’ve done enough.
But leadership asks something different of you.
It asks you to make the decision.
Share the message.
Create the offer.
Invite someone to work with you.
Allow your work to be seen before it feels perfect.
That can feel far more vulnerable than completing another certification.
Because now you’re no longer being evaluated on how well you learned someone else’s method.
You’re being asked to trust your own.
What if you don’t need more information?
What if you need a safe place to uncover what’s actually keeping you stuck and identify the next step your business is asking you to take?
Discover What’s Keeping You StuckYoga Has Never Asked You to Become Someone Else
This is where I believe we’ve misunderstood confidence.
We keep treating it like something we must create.
Something we must achieve.
Something waiting for us at the end of enough preparation, success, or external proof.
But yoga has never asked us to build a better, more acceptable version of ourselves.
It has always invited us to remember.
Remember the awareness beneath the noise.
Remember the wisdom beneath the fear.
Remember the wholeness beneath the striving.
Remember the Self that has never needed to prove its worth.
Maybe that is why your practice begins by bringing you back to your breath.
Not because the breath changes who you are.
Because it returns you to who you already are.
Every time you return to your breath…
You remember.
Every time you choose presence over perfection…
You remember.
Every time you notice judgment and choose compassion instead…
You remember.
Every time you keep a promise to yourself…
You remember.
Your yoga practice has never only been teaching you how to hold a pose.
It has been teaching you how to stay with yourself.
How to listen.
How to return.
How to trust.
Your business is not asking you to abandon that practice.
It is asking you to live it.
Your Students Aren’t Looking for the Most Certified Teacher
Think about the teachers who have changed your life.
Was it because they had the longest résumé?
Was it because they knew every answer?
Was it because they never made a mistake?
Probably not.
You remember how they made you feel.
Safe.
Seen.
Welcomed.
Less alone.
You remember their presence.
The way they held space without trying to prove anything.
The way they helped you see something inside yourself that you couldn’t yet see alone.
That is what your future students are looking for too.
They are not waiting for you to know everything.
They are waiting for you to show up.
They are waiting for the lesson only your life can teach.
They are waiting for the way you explain something.
The way you listen.
The way you create safety.
The way your story helps them recognize themselves.
Your humanity is not the part of your work you need to hide.
It is often the very thing that makes your work healing.
Maybe You’ve Been Asking Yourself the Wrong Question
The mind loves questions that keep us evaluating ourselves.
Am I ready?
Am I qualified enough?
What if I fail?
What if someone else knows more than I do?
What is wrong with me?
Those questions rarely create clarity.
They create judgment.
They keep you standing outside your own life, analyzing yourself instead of participating in it.
And you cannot shame yourself into creating something new.
You cannot judge yourself into trust.
You cannot criticize yourself into becoming the leader your dream requires.
Something new needs safety.
It needs curiosity.
It needs space to be imperfect while it takes form.
So instead of asking, “Why haven’t I figured this out yet?”
Ask:
“What am I learning about myself here?”
Instead of asking, “What is wrong with me?”
Ask:
“What part of me is asking to feel safe?”
Instead of asking, “Am I ready?”
Ask:
“What is the next loving step I can take?”
And instead of asking whether you believe in yourself enough…
Ask:
“What have I forgotten about who I am?”
A Coaching Moment
Before you sign up for another training, pause.
Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly.
Take one slow breath.
Let your body settle before your mind rushes to find another answer.
Then ask yourself:
“If I fully remembered who I am, what would I do next?”
Not next year.
Not after another certification.
Not once you finally feel fearless.
Today.
Write down the first honest answer that comes before your mind begins explaining why you can’t.
This Is the Moment I Love Most
People often assume I help yoga teachers build businesses.
I do.
We clarify their message.
Create their offers.
Simplify the technology.
Build the path that helps the right students find them.
But that isn’t the deepest transformation.
The deepest transformation happens when a woman stops building a business to prove she is worthy of having one.
She stops asking, “Will they choose me?”
And begins asking, “How can I serve the people who are already looking for what I carry?”
She stops waiting for confidence to arrive.
And begins creating evidence that she can trust herself.
One post.
One invitation.
One honest conversation.
One promise kept.
One brave step at a time.
That is the moment everything changes.
Not because fear disappears.
Because fear is no longer making every decision.
She remembers that she is not building a business to become someone important.
She is building it because the work already inside her is too important to keep hiding.
Your Breakthrough Is Self-Remembrance
Your breakthrough is not becoming someone else.
It is not finally transforming into the fearless, perfectly prepared woman you’ve been waiting for.
It is coming home to the woman you already are.
The woman beneath the comparison.
Beneath the perfectionism.
Beneath the pressure to prove herself.
The woman your practice has been introducing you to every time you return to your breath.
Your dream has never needed a more qualified version of you.
It needs the version of you who is willing to trust what she already knows.
To share what she has lived.
To serve before she feels completely ready.
To foster what is trying to grow instead of judging it for not being fully formed.
Maybe your breakthrough isn’t hiding inside another training.
Maybe it is waiting inside a different question.
Maybe the life you have been praying for doesn’t begin the day you become someone new.
Maybe it begins the day you stop forgetting who you have been all along.
